Switching Existing Incentive Applications to NIF: Key Conditions

Can an existing incentive application be switched to NIF? Yes, but not at any time.

According to FAQ No. 12, an application submitted under the previous incentive regime may be considered for transfer to NIF only if MIDA has not completed its evaluation and the company has not commenced operations or issued its first sales or commercial invoice. Once the application has been approved, it cannot be transferred to NIF.

For ITA, QCE cannot be applied retrospectively.

Switching to NIF may also require the submission of additional information and payment of a new evaluation fee.

Business owners should not wait until the train has left the station before asking to change platforms.
