Steps to Create the MyTax Account via e-KYC (A Requirement for Accessing MyInvois Portal)

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Download the MyTax App:

📍 Go to your device’s app store (Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iOS).

📍 Search for “MyTax” and download the official app from the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM).

2. Start the e-KYC process:

📍 Open the MyTax app on your device.

📍 Begin the electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) process.

3. Enter your email:

📍 Provide your email address when prompted.

4. Upload your MyKad and take a photo:

📍 Follow the app’s instructions to upload a clear image of your MyKad.

📍 Take a selfie as directed by the app for identity verification.

5. Set up your account:

📍 Create a password for your MyTax Portal account.

📍 Confirm your password.

📍 Enter a security phrase to confirm your ID information is correct.

📍 Read and accept the Digital Certificate Registration Terms and Conditions.

📍 Click “Submit” to confirm your Digital Certificate registration information.

6. Digital Certificate Generation:

📍 Wait for the portal to generate your digital certificate.

📍 When successful, you’ll see a popup message. Click “OK” to close it.

7. Log into the MyTax Portal:

📍 Visit https://mytax.hasil.gov.my

📍 Choose your identification type and enter your identification number.

📍 Click “Submit” to continue.

8. Access your account:

📍 If login is successful, you’ll be directed to the main page of the MyTax Portal.

⚠️ Remember, this process is necessary for accessing the MyInvois Portal and complying with e-invoicing requirements. It also lets you e-file your tax returns and access other important tax-related services, including MyInvois Portal.
