Malaysia’s New Incentive Framework (NIF) adopts an outcome-based assessment approach.

Manufacturing projects will be evaluated through the NIA Scorecard (National Investment Aspirations Scorecard), which assesses the actual contributions of investment projects to the national economy, the environment and long-term development.

One of the key areas, Enhance Sustainability Practices, focuses on encouraging businesses to use resources more efficiently during production, reduce waste and minimise their environmental impact.

Businesses can demonstrate their sustainable practices in four areas:

By integrating sustainability into manufacturing processes—from materials, waste and water resources to energy management—businesses can move towards a greener and more efficient future.
