Since e-Invoice implementation began on 1 August 2024, more than 1.683 billion e-Invoices had been recorded by 31 July 2026. A total of 251,077 participants were covered across Phases 1 to 4 as at that date.
The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) encourages taxpayers to request e-Invoices from sellers for use in their personal income tax claims. Taxpayers should provide their identification card number or Tax Identification Number (TIN) when requesting an e-Invoice, where required.
Keeping e-Invoices may also make it easier to organise supporting documents for tax claims, including deductions that can be pre-filled where applicable.
