When I saw Facebook suddenly display these photos, it brought back a flood of memories from the years when we were preparing for the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Malaysia.
It was when Malaysian businesses were bustling with preparations for GST, and one of the photos was taken on November 5, 2014, marking the moment I became a GST speaker for the first time.
Back then, there was no widely available online sharing, physical training, workshops, or seminars like we have today.
I still remember vividly that it was a pivotal moment in my career.
As I stood on that stage, facing a group of professionals eager to understand GST, I felt a deep sense of responsibility and excitement.
My second GST speaking engagement was at the Pearl Hotel, organised to serve our clients.
From that moment onwards, I began receiving positive feedback and suggestions from the audience, fueling my motivation to promote GST course lectures further.
GST was officially implemented in 2015 and continued until 2018 when it was replaced by the Sales and Service Tax (SST) due to a change in government.
It all reminds me of a line from the poem “题都城南庄”:
去年今日此门中，人面桃花相映红。
人面不知何处去，桃花依旧笑春风。
Time flies, but this GST journey will forever be etched in my heart.

那是一个马来西亚商家如火如荼准备GST实施的时刻，其中一张张照片是我第一次成为GST演讲嘉宾的时刻拍的，2014年11月5日 – Rotary Club Seri Petaling。
那个时候，还没有像今天这样普及的线上分享、实体培训、研讨会等。我仍然记得清晰，那是我职业生涯中的一次重要转折点。
当我站在那个讲台上，面对一群渴望了解GST的专业人士，内心充满了责任感和兴奋。
我的第二场GST演讲是在Pearl Hotel，这一次为了服务客户而举办的。从那一刻起，我开始收到来自听众们的积极反馈和建议，这也激发了我不断进一步推广GST课程讲座的动力。
GST于2015年正式实施，而一直持续到2018年，那时因政府变更，GST被SST（销售与服务税）所取代。
这一切如同出自《题都城南庄》中的一句诗所述：“#去年今日此门中，#人面桃花相映红；#人面不知何处，#桃花依旧笑春风。”
时间飞逝，但这段GST经历将永远铭刻在我心中。
